Legal obligations: what the regulations say

From 1ᵉʳ September 2026, the French government requires all companies established in France to issue and receive their invoices in electronic format via a partner dematerialization platform (PDP).

This measure aims to :

Who’s concerned?

What's the implementation timetable?

The obligation to issue invoices is fixed from :

  • September 1, 2026 for large and mid-sized companies
  • September 1, 2027 for small and medium-sized enterprises and micro-businesses


The obligation to
receive of electronic invoices will apply from September 1, 2026 for all companies, whatever their size.
